Reduction of carbon footprint

Since the introduction of the Ultima Series of Destination signs four years ago Mobitec customers have reduced their carbon footprint by more than 20,000 tons.

Ultima destination signs are much lighter in weight and consume much less power than other destination signs. This is just one of the reasons why Mobitec bus destination signs are so widely used by public transport authorities throughout Europe, Middle East, Asia, Australia, New Zealand, North America and South America. In the last 12 months alone the carbon footprint reduction has been 8,000 tons. The 20,000 tons reduction is equal to 100,000,000 kilometres of driving for an average car.

Improving the energy efficiency of our products is a top priority for our development team. The reduction in power consumption of Ultima signs by 60% and the weight by 50% compared to other destination signs reduces the fuel consumption of a single public transport bus by 80-100 litres of diesel per year.

Destination signs supplied by sister brands – Lawo, Gorba and Luminator also incorporate the same design philosophy as the Ultima signs and have achieved similar reductions in their carbon footprints in recent years.

Mobitec, Lawo, Gorba and Luminator are members of Luminator Technology Group (LTG). LTG is a worldwide market leader for the design and supply of innovative on board passenger information systems for public transport.
